History of Concept

Concept’s Beginnings

Concept Technical Group, originally Concept Engineering & Mfg., Inc., was established in 1984 to supply quality engineering, design, and drafting services to companies in the Milwaukee area. Knowing that this business is highly competitive and service oriented, the long-term goal was to gain a reputation throughout the industry for supplying reliable, quality personnel at competitive rates.

Concept’s current standing as a leader in the Milwaukee area is due … to its employees. In order to accomplish our goal, we have tried to hire only dependable, conscientious individuals with the desires and goals to grow with us. Concept’s current standing as a leader in the Milwaukee area is due in large part to the ability, loyalty and integrity of its employees. Because of our steady growth, we believe that both the company and employees have a great future and we look forward to even more growth in the years to come.

Acquisition of Universal Design Corporation

Concept Technical Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of the technical staffing division of Universal Design Corporation, effective May 14, 2001. UDC has “been in the business” for nearly 35 years in the Milwaukee area. This acquisition will help to further diversify Concept’s already vast client list as well as add talented engineers, designers and drafters to its staff.

An Evolving Concept

As the business evolved and we discontinued our manufacturing services, our name changed on September 1, 2001 to Concept Technical Group, Inc. The new name better identifies what we offer and allows future flexibility to expand our services.

In March of 2006, it was decided that we needed to place a larger emphasis on our technical staffing division while lessening our presence as a design and drafting firm. Concept’s new slogan was changed to reflect this decision: “Technical Staffing & Recruiting.” This will ultimately improve our performance as a staffing agency and help us to better focus and improve our services for today and the future.
